We’re based in the cultural heart of Leigh town centre, neighbouring Leigh Town Hall on the Civic Square. You can find us on the first floor of the Turnpike Centre, above Leigh Library.

Getting here

We’re located in the centre of Leigh, so there are lots of transport options available to reach us. We encourage you to use green travel if you can.

By bike

Bike racks are available on Civic Square in front of The Turnpike Centre.

By bus

We are only 5 minutes’ walk from Leigh Bus Station. To plan your journey, visit Transport for Greater Manchester (external link).

By car

We are located next to the Town Hall surface car park operated by Wigan Council (Mon - Sat: 1-2 hours £1.10, 2-3 hours £1.60). For driving directions, please use postcode WN7 1EB.

By train

The nearest train stations are Atherton (then 582 bus to Leigh); Earlestown/Newton-le-Willows (then 34 bus to Leigh); and Wigan (then 8 bus to Leigh).

There is lift access from the entrance foyer to the first floor.

Baby changing facilities are available within the accessible toilet.

Accessibility

There is a ramp leading to the main entrance of The Turnpike Centre which is accessed via electronic sliding doors. A lift is available within the foyer for visitors to the gallery and toilets on the first floor.

The gallery and studio spaces are fully accessible to wheelchair users; however, the doors to the gallery spaces are not automatic – please ask a member of staff for assistance with these doors if required. Pushchairs are welcome.

There is limited bench seating in the galleries, please ask if you would like additional seating.
